A group of Aptitude Health employees truly got into the spirit of giving by taking part in a virtual teambuilding event that resulted in a donation to the Atlanta Community Food Bank. The result of their efforts was a generous donation of 35 custom, reusable canvas tote bags and a financial contribution to provide food for each bag. This event took place on December 13, 2021, via video conference.
Aptitude Health worked with Impact 4 Good, a company that runs teambuilding programs, to plan an event that would be fun and meaningful for socially distanced participants, while also making a difference. The program selected was called “Hope Against Hunger.” During the activity, approximately 35 attendees first participated in a hunger awareness challenge. They then digitally received design options based around the theme of hope, along with other materials needed to create a personalized art image to be printed on reusable tote bags. The participants worked together to complete their project in small breakout groups as they got to know one another. The completed tote bags, as well as a financial contribution to fill the bags with food, were donated to the Atlanta Community Food Bank, for distribution to those in need in and around the community.
The Atlanta Community Food Bank’s mission is to fight hunger by engaging, educating, and empowering the community. While their core work is food distribution, their efforts extend far beyond that. They work with more than 700 nonprofit partners—including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, shelters, and senior centers—to distribute over 67 million meals to more than 1 million people estimated to be food insecure due to COVID-19 in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
